Spirit of Prayer

Almighty
God, who pourest
out on all who desire it, the spirit of grace and of supplication:
Deliver us,
when we draw nigh to thee, from coldness of heart and
wanderings of mind, that
with stedfast thoughts and kindled affections, we may worship thee in
spirit
and in truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Collect for
The Twelfth Sunday After Trinity
Almighty
and
everlasting God,
who art always more ready to hear than we to pray, and art wont to give
more
than either we desire or deserve: Pour down upon us the abundance of
thy mercy:
forgiving us those things whereof our conscience is afraid,
and giving us
those good things which we are not worthy to ask, but through the
merits and
mediation of Jesus Christ, thy Son. our Lord. Amen.
Collect for
The Second Sunday in Advent
Blessed
Lord,
who has caused
all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant that we may
in such
wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by
patience
and comfort of thy holy Word, we may embrace, and ever hold
fast, the blessed
hope of everlasting life, which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus
Christ.
Amen.

God,
by whom the meek are guided in judgment, and light riseth up
in darkness for
the godly: Grant us. in all our doubts and uncertainties, the
grace to ask
what thou wouldest have us to do, that the Spirit of Wisdom may save us
from
all false choices, and that in thy light we may see light, and in thy
straight
path may not stumble: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
